~~My FYP Proposal~~

Title
Virtual Traditional Malay Wedding

Abstract
A 3d application simulates real traditional Malay wedding.

Target Audience
The target audiences are foreigners that interested in having an exotic wedding.

Goal
The goal of this application is to introduce traditional Malay wedding to outsiders and letting them experience it easily.
Couples nowadays love doing weddings in other exotic culture, but having problem in choosing which one they wanted due to time and cost needed to understand and learn about other culture weddings. And the Malay culture is hardly known to outsiders especially in the west. By creating this application which focuses on experiencing traditional Malay wedding, foreigners can easily access information and gaining their interest on this unique culture wedding.
By utilizing VR for this application, users would easily get information on how and what usually happen in traditional Malay wedding. Unlike normal video, VR let users use their senses more, thus giving them better experience, especially with the usage of Head Mounted Display. They can also explore the area, and interact with other characters and objects.



Objectives
-to let users get better understanding on Malay culture through Virtual Reality experience
-to promote traditional Malay weddings to outsiders
-to inform others on the adat meminang and bersanding

Description
This application aims at letting the user gets the first hand experience on the vent. The user involved indirectly as a relative of the bride and the camera will be first person view. The user can navigate using directional button on the keyboard, and Enter to interact. Mouse can also be used to get to the other part of the application and by clicking on certain object; feedback and/or information about it will be revealed. The voiceover will be completely in Malay language but English subtitle be included so that no Malaysian which are the main target audience of this application.
The application starts by briefly showing how to control the avatar, and brief information about the title.
Level 1:
-adat merisik and meminang
-inside (living room) of the bride’s house
-evening
-interaction with the groom and his parents for adat merisik and meminang


Level 2:
-hantaran and bersanding
-inside (living room) and outside of the bride’s house
-morning
-animation on the hantaran and bersanding event
-interacts with visitors and a few items such as bunga mangga.

Interaction Description
-Users are allowed to interact with the some of the non playable characters, gaining feedback and/or information on the event as to what happen and why.
-Clicking on several items will reveal a popup windows showing brief information regarding the items
-Users can also skip and/or choose which event to join in both levels
-User can show or hide the interface menu
-Able to navigate using the directional arrow keys
-Proximity sensors will be included on several areas throughout the environment where getting in it will activate the sensor and gives audio feedback.

Well... wedding won't work without love, aye? I need to love my work to be able to do it well.

This blog will be where i put all my fyp works, as well as my thoughts about it.
